The First Consultation

In our Clinic, for a New Patient Consultation, we will take a detailed case history and then perform an appropriate examination.  This might involve a general as well as a specific local examination.

During a normal initial or follow up examination
we may require you to remove your outer clothing so please wear appropriate underclothing allowing access to the spine if appropriate.

We will then identify the likely cause of your problem and discuss and agree a treatment plan with you. Every person is different, and each problem will be analysed individually to come up with the best treatment approach possible.  It may be necessary to adjust the plan at subsequent sessions depending on your response to treatment.

New Patient and Follow Up Consultations

In our Clinic, a standard New Patient Consultation is 60 mins.  Standard follow ups are 30 minutes,  but for patients with multiple, more complex problems, or who are travelling some distance to see us, we recommend booking an hour for new and follow up consultations.

Online Consultations

In response to COVID-19 lockdown,  and for patients who are unable to attend clinic we will be offering the opportunity to have Online Consultations.  Please contact us for more details.

Therapies

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is used as a treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body. We work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery, using touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms.

What is Medical Acupuncture?

Medical Acupuncture and Dry Needling stimulates the nerves in skin and muscle, and can produce a variety of effects, it is used as a treatment which can help in relieving symptoms of some physical and psychological conditions and it also helps give an improved sense of well-being. It increases the body's release of natural painkillers - endorphin and serotonin - in the pain pathways of both the spinal cord and the brain. A typical course of treatment lasts 5 to 8 sessions.
